PixelPAD ReflectionPart 1: The Player
For the first part of the tutorial, I learned how to add the objects including the player that I also started programming. I used how to program its controls and how to make the player move. Part 2: The Enemy This part of the tutorial showed how to add movements of the enemies and hot randomize their positions. I have learned how to position enemies and customize their speed of how fast they attack the player. Part 3: Collisions and Classes Part 3 of the tutorials thought me the different classes to use for different uses in the game, the importance of it is for the game to be organized and for the different classes to know what their roles are. Collisions thought me how to program the player, enemy, bullet, and power up to destroy themselves upon collisions with each other. Part 4: More Enemies this part of the tutorial thought me how a spawner works and how to program the randomness of a spawner, how many players per second will spawn, and where and what their limits are when the enemies spawn. Part 5: Adding Score I learned how to add scores in the game through this tutorial and realized that even keeping track of scores in games goes through much programming, it was easier compared to the other parts that I have done but it still amazes me how much programming it takes to make a scoreboard. Part 6: Background The steps in this tutorial are more simple than the ones I previously did. Mainly because it is only the background. What this tutorial has thought me is the importance of arrangements. the program will not work properly if the arrangements of your script are not arranged properly. Part 7: Power-ups The power ups was the part of the tutorial where I learned how to add a power up for a player and set the timer so the player wont use a power up the whole game. It was complicated for me because I made an error and it took me hours to figure out, but at the end I figured it out anyway and it turns out it was just one syntax error. Part 8: Game Over This part of the tutorial was quite easy because all I had to do is place a game over title, but I learned what a purpose of a room is. After I learned how to use a room I used it for the game over after the player dies. Part 9: Sound Effects The sound effects tutorial is the last part of the tutorial, all I had to do is to just add the sound of the collision with the bullet, power up, player, and enemy. I quite enjoyed this part because is was the finishing part of the tutorial and it taught me how to add sound properly in a game. |
